Mother - Madre // Mom - Mamá // Mommy - Mami or Mamita

Here's a poem recited by children in on mother's day:

Mamita linda hoy es tu día

te ofrezco flores de mil colores

y yo tu hijito, tu pedacito

muchas canciones te cantaré.

" Mami" for mommy, "Papi" for daddy. In Spanish seems the " i " is preferred over the " y".

We were discussing this topic last night in my class when one of my students, a beautiful young Mexican girl, raised her hand and said: "Pues, yo tengo 23 años y todavía les digo "mami" y papi, y cuando hablo de ellos digo "mi amá o mi apá. This young woman is a really sharp student who really doesn't need my class. She's so good she could teach it. But here she is still using these cute chld-like loving words about her parents.

I still call my 89 year old parents, Mommy and Daddy. :) - sanlee, Nov 24, 2014
Sometimes these old posts come up and unless a person scrolls down to the last answer, they will never see your answer no matter how great it is and this one was a good one and I am not just saying that because we are amigas. - sanlee, Nov 24, 2014
This is interesting because I am still looking for good names for the grandchildren to call us. I thing i like áma y ápa. I have to see how it goes over with the kids.. - sanlee, Nov 24, 2014
Watch where you stick the accents. (lol) Try the last syllable. - Daniela2041, Nov 24, 2014

The only one i dont see on this list of pet names for mother is one that i have noticed a lot of young children use (or older children when they are being cheeky)...another form of Mamá but they would drop the M

Amá = sounds like ---ahMA

When in México, I have heard mami or sometimes mamí used for Mommy, akin to mamá for Mom.

Cuando en México, yo he oído mami o mamí utilizados para "Mommy."
