Ziti is a shape of pasta. There are many shapes of pasta, for example: Spaghetti, Linguini, BowTies, Elbows, Shells, Thin Spaghetti, Rigatoni, Manacotti, Lasagna.. Etc. They are all just shapes of the final pasta product. So, for example you go to a resturant and order Lasagna, you are just saying the name of the shape of the noodle(pasta), not the recipe that the resturant uses in preparing this particular shape of pasta. As a funny aside, my last name is ZITO, and I received many jokes about my name. grin
