esta accented or unaccented?

Looking for a very simple explanation for when esta contains an accent mark or not. está, esta. Pronoun, adjective, etc gives the clue. What is a simple way to know?

Esta = Esta mesa es grande (This table is big)
Here "esta" refers to demonstrative pronoun.
Está = La mesa está en la cocina (The table is in the kitchen)
Here "está" means a location and is a conjugation of the verb "estar."
