Decidido

determined, decisive; decided

DO NOT use the translator!! ¡No usar el traductor!

Work must be done by yourself.
This thread is about YOUR ability not the ability of the translator. wink

Post your sentences in Spanish and English, then vote for the ones you like. The best answer will be chosen tomorrow on the basis of the greatest number of votes and language correctness.

These threads are kindly moderated by Heidita. Please correct your posts according to Heidita’s indications and suggestions smile.

Posts which will not be corrected or accepted:
• Captions with 3 words or less
• Paragraphs with more than 4 lines
• Posts which cannot be understood it is read three or four times
• Posts which consist mainly of lyrics or idioms which do not translate.
• Captions copied directly from books or other sources.
• Multiple posts from one person, or those who don't write the sentences in both English and Spanish.
• Remember to use the Word of the Day in a typical Spanish sentence. This is great practice for you and for everyone that reads the thread to see how the Word of the Day could be used in a sentence.

Remember to correct your posts as suggested or they can NOT be "accepted".
Do not use subject pronouns in Spanish. (You'll be sent to the dunce corner!)
Please refrain from overloading with graphic content (ie; bold smileys, etc). It makes it harder for the correctors to be able to read your posts…. )

My Example:

He decidido que SpanishDict es el mejor sitio web para aprender español, y tenemos la mejor profesora…..

I have decided that SpanishDict is the best website for learning Spanish, y we have the best professor…

Nuestra criada no sabe barrer bien y por lo tanto he decidido hacerlo yo mismo. Afortunadamente sabe muy bien asustar a los niños del barrio, no se atreven a tocar el timbre y salen corriendo . . . . . cool smile

Our maid doesn’t know how to sweep properly, so I have decided to do it myself. Fortunately she is good at scaring the neighbourhood children away, they don’t dare to ring the bell and run away . . . . . cool smirk

Había decidido que aprender biología marina sería muy interesante, pero entonces decidí que aprender a hablar español sería más utíl. Por eso, ahora no hay suficiente tiempo para estudiar biología marina.

I had decided that learning marine biology would be very interesting, but then I decided that learning to speak spanish would be more useful. As a result, now there is not enough time to study marine biology.

I still need to study prepositions more, to know why my "que" was okay and theresa5's "que" needed to be "de que"--- because her verb following it was conjugated and mine not? - Stadt, Jul 25, 2011
Well Sean, there is still time to do both, let's start with "arrecife".:) - Yeser007, Jul 25, 2011
Yes I need to learn that too! I wonder if it's because mine translates to "determined" and yours is "decided" - theresa5, Jul 25, 2011
