The game of the ' DE' 1, for Spanish learners

The game of the ' DE' 1, for Spanish learners

The preposition "de" has so very many uses,

In this post we will play with only two.

First meaning or use is to express the nature or characteristic of things.

Example:

El florero de cristal.

Las puertas son de madera de pino.

Un hombre de piel morena de baja estatura.

The second use is to express the amount of something.

Example :

El libro de mil páginas.

El cajón de seis compartimentos.

Un sombrero de tres picos.

Make a simple phrase for each of the above usages in your answer in Spanish, every answer will get a vote and the most votes will get "Best answer"

.

Is 'más DE' correct? I always thought it was 'más QUE' - S1r_Wakka, Jul 25, 2011
"Más de " is correct here, because "de" is used to express " an amout of" something. - pacofinkler, Jul 25, 2011
