Eres un teto/ Eres una teta.

Does it mean "idiot" or does it mean more like "silly, crazy"? And is it a vulgar word?

I think is has some significance with "menzo/ menza" or tonto/ tonta" Definitly slang.

Let me know what you think or know.

Gracias

This might be a little late. But "teto/teta" is a slang word in Mexico (the only place it's used; to my knowledge). It lies somewhere between idiot and silly. It may be considered rude and despective when said to and about strangers or someone you are not well acquainted. But it is harmless against friends, siblings, and cousins.

"Teta" however has alternate (not slang) meanings. 1) Tit, as in a bodypart of mammals (ie. show your... ! ), and 2) Theta, as in the Greek letter.

Hope this clarify things a bit. wink

This definitely seems like slang. Here are Urban Dictionary results.

Teta - could definitely be considered rude.

Teto

Sounds like a British insult translated into Spanish.

I thought teta means simply teat like the things at the bottom of a cow's utter that you have to squeeze to get milk.

Pero cuando estaba en Colombia estrañando rieron mucho cuando dije: "Tiene tetas pequeñas"! Quizás hice un grosería.

I´ve never heard this in Spanish as an insult... teta is the same as boob, and we say Teto in a despective sentence, but not as an insult... if you are interested in knowing this, tell me...
