Reading the comics in Español
Two of my favorite comics, FoxTrot and Calvin and Hobbes, are available in Spanish at GoComics.com. Anyone else read these? Are the interpretations close to what a native speaker would write? I could use these as a learning tool for my kids and I but I'm worried about the quality of the interpretation.

I don't read these strips in Spanish so I can't speak to "las letras". However, I do think that reading comics in Spanish in general is great, and also very difficult, because there is all sorts of nuance that is implied in the gags and punch lines that is very "foreign" to a non-native and hence difficult, but if you do get the jokes it's a great measure of your mastery of a foreign language. Speaking for myself, I rarely get the jokes. I wish I did!
http://about.me/DanielMaine There is one comic artist from Spain named Dainel Mainé and have comic based on LGBT themes. I don´t know how you feel about gays or if this comic too much for children here in the US. I have not gotten the chance to buy his book.
I prefer to read Wikipedia articles and books in Spanish. They are good in improving the command of this language.
Prefiero leer Wikipedia artículos y libros en español. Ellos son buenos para mejorar el habilidad de utilizar esta lengua.
Hey, Jacob.
I think comics are a great way to learn. You need a certain level of fluency to get the joke on some of them.
It's terrific that you are teaching your kids Spanish. I so wish I did that when my son was young.
