¿Podemos utilizar averiguar en exactamente la misma manera que 'darse cuenta' o 'enterarse'? No sé pero espero que alguien me lo confirme.

Can we use 'averiguar' in exactly the same way as 'to realise' (find out)? I don't know but I hope someone will confirm for me.

I'm a little confused with this, because in English, 'to find out' can mean either 'to investigate' or 'to realise'.
