This is the basis of many jokes:
¿Qué pasa cuando tiras un pato al agua? - Nada.
What happens when you throw a duck into the water? - Nothing/He swims.
"Nada" is the third person singular conjugation of the verb "nadar" - to swim.
So, él nada means "he swims" or "he is swimming".
"Nada" can also be a pronoun meaning "nothing".
PS. When my dad used to ask me what I did at school that day, and I would respond with "nada" meaning "nothing", he would often retort with "el que nada no se ahoga"-he who swims does not drown. He loves the play on words. 
Probably missing the tilde (accent) on the E - he is swimming.
