julio/July-Our Spanishdict World July Photo Album
julio/July - Our Spanishdict World July Photo Album.
I was inspired to start this thread by a place I visited this morning on my bike ride. It's a place I go to frequently and watch it change from month-to-month. I wanted to share my photo and then thought "Well perhaps other members might like to join in."...
Okay so here are the "rules" of my new monthly thead. Each month take a photo of something in your world; a place or a thing - preferably something that changes over time. Don't stress too much about the "changing-over-time" thing- random photos are always welcome! However my friends - and pay attention to this - it must be a photo you (or your family) have taken, not a downloaded net photo .
So, to recap, if you are able, pick somewhere, or something, you can re-visit throughout the year. It can be a landscape; a streetscape; a cityscape; perhaps renovations that are taking place somewhere in your "world"; perhaps a favourite tree that changes colour, or, perhaps you have a favourite "pet rock" that might change it's appearance from month-to-month .
When August/September arrives I will create a new (photo) thread for the new month. We can re-post old photos alongside the "new" ones - just to see how things have changed in our corners of the world. This is just a suggestion - not essential to the monthly photo thread.
If you are unsure about how to upload your own photos to the site send me a PM and I'll take you through how I do it, step-by-step.
So how many photos can you post each month? A maximum of three - including any re-posted photos further-down-the-track. They can be three photos of the same place or you can post three photos of different places.
And so I'll start!
El pantano flotante en julio" (Hanging swamp in July). This lovely serene place is quite close to where I live. The orangey-grass of the hanging-swamp is quite long - about thigh-height.

Línea de contención en julio (Fire-trail in July)
Quizás este lugar parezca muy ordinario - pero cuando estoy en "The Bush" se me olvidan todos mis preocupaciones. (Perhaps this place seems very ordinary - but when I'm in "The Bush" I forget all my worries.) Especially when I'm riding along on my bike!
Hello Annie,
Being an old Alabama farm boy I always liked to watch the changing of the seasons in the fields. Let's see what happens to this corn field over the next few months.

Parramatta Gatehouse en julio (Parramatta Gatehouse in July)
Este edificio estrafalario es un lugar muy conocido en la cuidad de Parramatta y fue construido en 1885. Si cerráis los ojos casi se puede imaginar un coche de caballos llegando a las puertas.
(This quirky building is a well known landmark in the city of Parramatta and was built in 1885. If you close your eyes you can almost imagine a horse-drawn-carriage pulling up at the gates.)
Here's a couple of typical beings who visit our garden.

Great thread idea Annie. And I had a great one, but unfortunately we didn't bring our camera.
We are in New York City quite often, but for whatever reason, we only venture all the way downtown to the Ground Zero area once in awhile. Well, yesterday we did go and I was amazed at the progress that was being made with the new buildings. What is going on down there is quite astonishing. I even said we have to start documenting this with photographs every few months. I hope to get back soon so the world can see what is going on with the memorial site, but hopefully will come up with something else for July.
Saqué estas fotos del ¨Flicker Woods Trail¨ en Homer Lake Forest Preserve en Illinois, los Estados Unidos. Durante julio, han habido muchos bichos y la humedad ha sido alta, pero me relajo y me divierto.
These are taken on the Flicker Woods Trail at Homer Lake Forest Preserve in Illinois, USA. During July there have been a lot of bugs and the humidity has been high, but I am relaxing and having fun.
These spiders only survive a couple of months (thankfully)...
Look at my comments for corrections
Solida del Sol (Lago Atitlán, Guatemala) julio 2011
Hi there everyone
I arrived home from work completely knackered and wasn't going to log-on but, you know how it is, I decided to have a "peep" and saw that more July photos have been added to the thread.
I am so happy I logged-on - all your photos are amazing - what a wonderful world we live in
Come August I am going to return to my favourite "Hanging Swamp" - hope you will join me again in August
I prefer to make my "comments" in Spanish - another way to "keep-my-hand-in" so to speak. Forgive errors at the moment - think I'm suffering with a bit of brain-fog :(
