Does this word for cozy just follow the regular masculine feminine rules for describing? And how do I use it as a noun?

cama acogedora?

lugar acogedor?

Like that?

Your examples and your explanation are all correct, but this word is an adjective, not a noun. The only way you can use an adjective as a noun is by using articles:

lo acogedor = the welcoming / cosy / warm (thing)

"La cama acogedora" means "the cozy bed," and "el lugar acogedor" means "the welcoming place." It does follow the regular rules, and as in the other answer, there are only a select few occasions on which it may be used as a noun. For example, "Esta cama es más dura con mi cuerpo que el acogedor," meaning "This bed is harder on my body than the comfortable one."
