Take advantage of the "link" option!!

Thank you, fredbong, for helping me with this thread!

Something I see rarely see on SpanishDict is the use of the "link" option. It's very simple to use, yet I just don't see it all that often. It's a great tool to use when trying to show some one post from a huge thread (Like the drop one ,take one thread).

I'll be honest, for my first few days of membership, I wasn't really sure what the "link" was or what its purpose was.

Well, the "link" is used when you yourself would like to go to a specific post on a thread, or when you would like to direct someone to a specific post on a thread.

In case you don't how to use it, let me help you!!

This is going to be our example thread.

1) First things first, find that one post that really has struck you as helpful or intriguing. For example, let's say you really liked territurtle's post and want to share it with someone at the International Café thread. Well, you immediately think you'll just post the thread's link and hope that the person can find territurtle's response, right? Not anymore!

2) Okay, good, you've found your post. Now, click the "link" link in territurtle's post.

Upon doing so, a little box will pop up.

3) Highlight the code in the box and right click. Copy it.

¡Excelente!

Now, what do you want to do with it?

What to do when you want to post it on a thread

You should do this. It's so simple! Just right-click and click 'Paste'. Ta-da!!

Submit your post and now, the entire SpanishDict community will be able to see territurtle's post.

What to do when you want to put it in the address bar

If you wanted to do this, it's a little more work. We are off to a good start because we already have it copied. Now, we are going to paste it in the address bar.

This is how it's going to show up.

Paste that into an address bar, press "enter", and you're going to have a whole mess of problems. So...we have to modify it a little bit.

Fantastic!

Now paste that into your address bar...and voila! Territurtle's answer comes up.

So, show everyone on the International Café that hilarious post from the "Drop one, take one" thread (which has 3,300 responses! Have fun searching through that ). Now, you can easily show someone a helpful answer.

The "link" link is a great tool that SpanishDict offers...now we just have to take advantage of all of its wonderful uses!!

You two guys have just been so so helpful for me , I cannot thank you enough ,

there is just one small problem. you lost me just after = First things first, find that one post that really has struck you as helpful or intriguing.

But I jest ! Well a little , posting the link to wherever was fabulous , but when you

started on the " post to the thingamy bar" my fingernails glazed over and my

brain went into a place where angels fear to tread and I was loth to follow .

But I am sure you mean well . Thank your mom for the Rabbits.
