Fairness - Lo Justo
I have been nicely told that my comment to Ray's post about Sir Ian's health is not altogether fair, because some folks understand that I do not wish to be disturbed.
I would like to clarify that this is most emphatically not the case. I do need to concentrate fully on work and life activities, which for the moment means I cannot spare the time to be an active member of my beloved SpanishDict community.
That does not mean, however, that I do not want to have anything to do with SD. On the contrary, when something as important as this affects one of our long-standing, most beloved members, I would be most grateful if someone will take the time to let me know.
I do stop every now and then to have quick look-see, and maybe drop a quick comment. I still can't hang out here for very long at any given time. But I remain always interested in the important things that happen to and with our members.

Hoy me han dicho muy amablemente que mi comentario en el hilo de Ray sobre la sallud de Sir Ian no es del todo justo, porque muchas personas entienden que no deseo ser molestado.
Quisiera aclarar muy enfáticamente que este no es el caso. Es cierto que necesito concentrarme completamente en ciertas actividades de mi vida y mi trabajo, lo que por el momento significa que no puedo tomar el tiempo para ser un miembro activo de mi querida comunidad de SpanishDict.
Sin embargo eso no significa, que no quiero tener nada que ver con SD. Al contrario, cuando algo tan importante como esto afecta a uno de nuestros miembros más veteranos y queridos, estaré muy agradecido si alguien se puede tomar un momento para dejármelo saber.
De vez en cuando me detengo por aquí para echar un vistazo, y tal vez dejar un comentario rápido. Todavía no puedo quedarme "janguenado" por mucho tiempo, como dicen en Puerto Rico. Pero siempre me mantengo interesado en lo que sucede con nuestros miembros.

I mean, gekko, it is only logical that if you need a rest and to concentrate on your work, that people do not want to bother you. I would imagine that most members simply wanted to respect your wishes.
So, if we were to try to find things that may or may not interest you, which you seem to expect from us, well, that is really weird, as this would sort of drag you onto the forum, which you said you needed to distance yourself from.

It's nice to know our beloved gekko is still slithering around! I saw several of your cousins in Mexico the other week and asked how you were doing. Hopefully, they passed on my well wishes!

I completely understand how you feel. Also, it can be hard to miss important threads on the forum if you have not logged in for a while. I suggest you get one of your close friends' email address or create a Skype account and add your close SD friends. That way you can keep up to date about what is going on with your friends and the forum without actually having to log in. I hope you are enjoying your real life, it can be a lot of fun. Take care and I hope to see you back here soon.
As a matter of fact, now that we are at it, Quentin has been Crowned King of the Forum, also King of the Dunce corner of course.
That is certainly something to celebrate and that you should know about I am surprised actually that your informant has not mentioned this important and life changing event

I am a relative newbie, but I suspect this was an oversight. I also suspect you have more friends on the site than you realize.
