Does anyone know why I can no longer get video of the Spanish tutor, just some sort of quicktime logo?

Just a word as this may help the other guy who was struggling with the video on this site. I have uninstalled Quicktime just as a trial and the video runs smashing, it uses flash player. This does not seem to be affecting video anywhere else on my machine. Windows media player seems to be used for video elswhere. The problem seems to be solved, now back to some Spanish tuition. grin

Well I have not had any luck with Internet Explorer no matter what I have done, I have downloaded and installed Flash Player from the above link, still no joy. Then I installed Google Chrome browser and the video worked straight away on that. I will continue to visit SpanishDict on that browser while I try to resolve the IE problem.

Thanks all for the help.

Thank you for your feedback. Very few people bother to comeback after they have found a solution or workaround and share it. IE (9) s strange. Almost every web page that I go to that has advertising asks me to allow the use of the Flash player plug-in - 0074b507, Jul 16, 2011
On the other hand, it is nice that if I don't want to play the ad I can just not allow the player. - 0074b507, Jul 16, 2011

Let's put aside players for a moment (since the problems seems to be with Quicktime) and talk about browsers. Which browsers are you using? You may not have the proper plugin for your browser to use the Quicktime players.

In Firefox (I'm using version 5.0), if you go to Tools...Add-ons....Plug-in's check to see if you have these plug-in's.

These plugín''s should allow you to see the videos on this site using the Firefox browser.

Similar plug-in's are used in Google Chrome and Internet Explore browsers. Whatever browser that you are using, make sure that you have a plug-in for the player that you use. That allows you to use that plaver to view the contents on a web page.

Okay, I'm a newbie and would really like help with this as well. I only have the little QuickTime logo with a question mark. My QuickTime software is up-to-date but I can't see any videos on this website. I haven't had any trouble anywhere else that shows videos and therefore don't know what setting I may have that needs to be changed.

I hope I have entered this in the right place. If not, I'm still learning the rules and protocol. Please forgive me.

Thanks!

Thanks guys have updated Quicktime player and add ons that I can find. Have also downloaded the latest version of Flash Player. Still can not get it to run. Does this video player use Quicktime as the default player? This is really annoying as it was working perfectly.

Any other ideas?

Did you upgrade your Quicktime player recently? You may have to upgrade the add-in that allows the player to display flash video also. A lot of times when they put out new versions of software the old add-in's don't work with them until the maker of the add-in upgrades it.
