Could someone please check out this flashcard set that I've made. It's more of a pronunciation flashcard set than a point getter. The words are divided up into syllables with the stressed syllable highlighted. Would like to know if it's too confusing, that type of thing. Thanks!

I thought the ** (stars) would throw off the listening part, but it didn't. I like that. Then in the recognize part at first seeing 4 words broken apart was a slight distraction but the benefit of seeing the stressed syllable outweighs any visual distraction. Plus, by the end of the exercise I was only seeing the word not the stars. Excellent work swampy and beneficial for the site. Besides the following graphic is much harder on the eyes! LOL

Without some kind of filler in the blank spaces the sound wouldn't work. I used two stars instead of one for more seperation. - swampy, Jul 11, 2011
I don't think I would want to try the 'recall ' section. - swampy, Jul 11, 2011
I wondered how you got that part to work. I do like it. And no, for now recall might be a bit hard! I look forward to your other flashcards when you have the time. - bandit51jd, Jul 11, 2011
I made another one but I thought it was too long for a link. It's called, ' words divided into syllables with sound ' - swampy, Jul 12, 2011

Muy buen trabajo, Swampy...!

Excepto por la palabra 'surprised'.

En español es: "sorprendido" no 'serprendido'.

Thanks Cesar, I fixed the mistake. I had to get creative with the asterisks to make the sound work. - swampy, Jul 11, 2011

I liked reading the stressed words , but in the "recognise "section a few of the words

kept throwing me even though i knew them well , I guess there will be some of us

that are thrown by the arrangement , it is how our brain perceives things.

Strangely I had no trouble in the listen section.

Therefore I would have to say I would not go for it in the" recognise" section.

But thank you Swampy a great effort.

I like the preview section at the start without the timer going. Just taking my time and listening to the word as many times as I want. - swampy, Jul 12, 2011

I did not find it confusing at all. A visual reminder of which syllable gets the stress is a good idea!
