Definitivamente, este es un caso en el que la traducción literal no tiene sentido.

Mi traducción: "Más te vale que estés allí" o "Más te vale que vayas"

Espero que ayude en algo... smile

How about "si te fuiste, te lo perdiste"? If you left, you missed out. Not exactly the same, but similar sentiment.
