I would have used "a causa de" to tanslate "because of," but I´m not a native. Is one better than the other? Are both correct? - tc84, Jul 11, 2011

@ Dakie, no you can say I have many debts (if you want to stress that you don't owe only one person but many) but I have a lot of debt could mean you owe more than one person/company as well :) - Kiwi-Girl, Jul 11, 2011
