Football Chants

Yes, thats football - not soccer! Also not girls rugby - ie American Football raspberry wink

Seeing as we seem to have lots of football fans on this forum, list some of your favourite songs.

Very simple I know, but I like it. Sang to a slightly over weight player or even opposing fan!

"You've never seen a salad"!

"Nunca ve una ensalada" - is that right?

Over to you!

This sounds like a great thread idea Billy. But I must confess, I know little to nothing about what the rest of the world calls "football". I did get caught up in the excitement in Mexico the other week when they won the gold cup, but must admit, I still felt like a fraud. rolleyes red face LOL

So I am going to just sit back and enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with. I really would like to learn. Since I have to live on a steady diet of American football, baseball and hockey, I think it is time for me to become a bit more cosmopolitan and learn about what the rest of the world is talking about when you say "football". wink

So, in addition to hearing all of the songs you enjoy in regards to this sport, if you would also like to open a "Let's teach Nicole (who's been living under a rock) something about football thread, that would be great too!! LOL LOL LOL

I am also unsure of what sport the thread is about. To me football is the sport with plastic helmets and shoulder pads, an oblong ball, and metal facemasks. Futbol us the sport with a round ball and shin gaurds. Is football also used to mean rugby? - tc84, Jul 11, 2011
lol Nicole - stay around and be educated. Its The rest of the world v USA when it comes to football :-P - billygoat, Jul 11, 2011
I know exactly which sport is being referred to here. I even understand how it is played. I just don't understand how all of the competitions, etc. work. It seems like it is non-stop. - Nicole-B, Jul 11, 2011
I guess it's just me who is confused. This is the first time I´ve heard rugby refered to as football. - tc84, Jul 11, 2011

I was in a Spanish bar in Cádiz during the world cup and it sounded like everyone around me were singing: "((in a drunken manner))rahhh la laaaaa rahhhhhhhh laaaaaa laaaaaa rawhhhhhh"

I would also love to know too what they were actually saying xD

I would be careful if I were you Billy. Throwing insults like that at a Philadelphia girl!?!?Hopefully Pesta will weigh in as well. Philadelphians are notorious for being the world's most obnoxious fans......especially if we are insulted. jejeje wink LOL LOL LOL LOL

Well that happened when I was too young to attend football games. However, you do take your life in your hands at most sporting events. jeje - Nicole-B, Jul 11, 2011
