Spanish text when using gmail

Spanish text when using gmail

I use gmail quite extensively for email and I have a friend in the Dominican Republic that I communicate with regularly in Spanish. The problem is that I have not been able to figure out how to add tildes and other symbols that are unique to the language. Does anyone know how this is done using gmail?

Thanks as always for your help SD community. grin

You do not have your gmail configured to use plain text do you? (instead of Rich Text?) Does your page use HTML?

When you compose a message do you see all of the text attributes icons?

Is this problem unique to GMail? Can you make the accent marks elsewhere or is it that you just don't know how to make them?

The easiest is to change you keyboard to Spanish. Depending on what windows program you are using, the process differs a bit, but you can change back and forth as you wish, and it will work for all your typing needs, another option is Vikingo´s program, which you can load from this link and activate as you need it.
