Flight of Fancy? (Imagination can take you anywhere)
We can go on a jaunt, or a voyage or trip if you prefer that.
Wherever we go we will see beautiful colours,
smell delightful fragrances,
hear soul reaching sounds, feel
wondrously light and
nothing we do will
tire us or cause
us concern.
Too good to be true?
No, it is simply as it should be and can be if we want it so.
So put down whatever keeps you here; the knitting in your hand,
the report for work, the meal you are making,
waiting for the phone to ring or the letter
that takes an age to arrive, for they
are all things for later, and
come with me for now,
or for ever.
You must know that I cant go without you, this trip, or flight of
fancy if you prefer to call it that, can only be lived if shared.
I would not believe it if I go alone, so I need you,
believe me I need you.
How many are coming with us?
Just us two, as many as you want,
Hundreds, if you prefer that.
Where are we going?
Anywhere, or everywhere if you prefer that, believe that too, believing
is all that we need. Believe as you did when you were a child for
then we will fly, we will tumble on ivory clouds and talk
to azure butterflies, fall with soft rain and swoop with
bluebirds, we will wake inside a flaming crimson tulip
or the opening mouth of a surfacing blue whale.
Believe and we will write sonnets and sing love songs, swim with coral fish by
the million and picnic on champagne and mulberries on the farthest star,
on a whim for just an afternoon. We will stroll through history, talk
with Socrates, watch Michelangelo paint, sing with Caruso and
dance in perfect step with whoever is in our arms.
All our kisses will be as soft as doves, all our wishes lovingly granted
and nightingales will sing our lullabies.
What should you take with you?
Your favourite white dress of silk-like dragonfly wings,
your dreams or nothing,
I prefer that.
When will we return?
Whenever you want to, today, tomorrow,
never if you decide that.
Are you coming with me?
I'm so sorry to hear this. Que te mejores prontito. We need you around here.

Oh Ian, this is a bummer!! I hope they are treating you well there and I do hope it is nothing serious. We've missed you in the chats. Get well soon and come back to us in your usual spirits.
Get Well Soon, Ian!
I hope this is just a minor speed bump, and you'll be back on the road soon!
I did not have time this early morn when I did the post for Ian , I wanted to show
to him the love I felt for him ,and indeed the love and esteem that we all hold
him in . This is a poem that Ian wrote many years ago ,one which I feel is
worthy of great praise , perhaps if he sees this it may give his immune system
the kick start in needs . good on you Ian , you are a "Legend" .
------------
This England (all our yesterdays)
All our churches used to sing
Listen to me Listen to me.
I am the truth you need to know to
show you the way you need to go.
The bells of old strident rang but now
our new tolerance muffles how
living the good life confusingly seems
just talk of all our might have beens.
--
All our yesterdays used to say
We were good
We were good
With pride in them we rested well
Of them we would proudly tell
our children to look back and see
what had been done most regally.
Now with questions we ourselves conspire
to warn of acts with consequences dire.
----
All our children used to cry
Show us the way Show us the way.
You have been where we need to go
You know the seeds we need to sow
You know the ways of all the world
and the hurts at us that will be hurled.
Now when we do know what is best
with their eyes they say thou doth jest?
-----
All our masters used to demand
Do what I say
Do what I say
huddled masses know your places
show us obedience in your faces
born lowly to cower at our feet
our dictates you must meekly meet.
Now they ask, what makes you rise with vigour
and at our vain pretences snigger?
All our virtues used to say
------
this is the way
this is the way
Be chivalrous and with proud endeavour
call men to truly reach for honour.
Gallant in defeat and with fairness favour
those cowardly that will you demeanour.
Now such words echo back from the deafness
of those that cry for political correctness.

Ian,
I did notice you hadn't been with us for a bit - I assumed you were on holidays. The site doesn't seem quite the same without your wise and measured approach. Get well soon my friend .....
Latest word on Ian he is still in Hospital , feeling a little better , he wants to go
home but has problem with administration . Can only access internet for
30 minutes a day , a friend brings his computer in each day for Ian to use ,
he thanks everyone for their support it has given him an enormous lift .
You have been fantastic guys , your blood is worth bottling.
Sad news indeed .... I hope you'll be back on your feet soon mate - keep your pecker up!
What happened! Did you get sick on all those challenging words!
We sure miss you and hope to hear that you will be up and around soon! -- bandit --

We're all looking, hoping and waiting ...

Till we can see our dear Sir Ian back on his keyboard!

Get well soon Ian!
We´ll be waiting for you!
Get well Ian! We need you here to maintain the peace!

A letter from Ian to all his friends , not the best of news but he is still alive
and fighting.
From Ian.
This may seem a bit perfunctory but the computer is not near the oxygen Machine yet.
I need the oxygen all the time almost. 30 mins max without.
I am at home and lots of things to sort out.
I will not be able to take the flight on 4th August.
Dont know if I ever will get on the plane again.
This I will send this as an email to everyone to let you know what is happening and another one to let you know what happened. It has been a bit of a nightmare thought I had had it at one point.
Think the docs did a good job but now I am house bound.
Thats it for now.
Lars and his wife Carla have been fantastic.
Sorry I have to email everyone in one go but cant stay here much longer I am a slow typist.
Chau for now.
Ian xx
PS I hope to have the PC by my bed soon and be on Skype again
