Preterite vs. the imperfect

The exercise that I'm doing asks to choose the correct form of the verb using preterite or imperfect from the word bank. Note: a word can be used more than twice, and not all words have to be used.

Here's the word bank:

conducir construir cruzar dar decir desayunar estar haber leer levantarse llamar llegar salir ser ver

Here's the paragraph: (the blanks are the words that I need help with.

Welcome to the forum, frap. I am pleased that you have come to us for help. However, at the risk of sounding brash, we are nor here to do yoir homework for you. I would ask that you make the attempt, then ask us for our thoughts on your chosen answers.

Update: As I read through it, the words that I felt were needed (not in this order) were: dar, haber, llegar, and ver.

I have attempted to this 3 times, and have 1 remaining attempt. I only have 4/15 incorrect. - frappuccinoftw, Jul 9, 2011
well apparently ver was not supposed to used lol. I tried using haber before for #7, but apparently used it in the wrong person. I thought that it was supposed to be habian (as in they had time). - frappuccinoftw, Jul 9, 2011
