Have you heard the term "posa" used for a swimming hole or a pond? A Tico might know this

I was in Costa Rica in the late '80s in the Peace Corps and we went to a natural pool near Guacimo where you could jump off the embankments. I thought they called it "la posa" but I could be wrong.

Yes! Just tweak the spelling. Una poza can be a pool, a pool occuring in nature rather than man-made.
