I say "cero coma veinticinco" (0,25) and "uno coma setenticinco" (1,75). It's also correct to say "punto" instead of "coma". I'm in Argentina, I don't know how it works in another countrys, but I think it's the same as here.

Thanks for this super helpful post. There's just a tiny typing error. It should be "...other countries..." Gracias amigo :) - GuitarWarrior, Jul 3, 2011
I can see the difference between "another" and "other" now, thanks ;) - ale_rd, Jul 3, 2011

Your examples would be:

Cero punto veinticinco.

Uno punto setenta y cinco.

We say Cero punto veintecinco, even though it's a comma: 0,25 ? - pesta, Jul 2, 2011
I'll bet you say... veinticinco. ;) - Tosh, Jul 2, 2011
Yes Tosh. I can't spell Spanish. :P - Goyo, Jul 2, 2011
That was more for pesta. ;) - Tosh, Jul 3, 2011
But it's true. I really don't spell Spanish well! - Goyo, Jul 3, 2011

In Spanish, my book says

In numerals and decimals, Spanish uses commas where English uses periods, and vice versa

One quarter: 0,25

One and three quarters: 1,75

If you wanted to say something like two thousand, you would write 2.000 in Spanish.

In Spanish-speaking countries that are very closely connected to the US, they do use the . (ie Mexico, Puerto Rico etc) - NuriaMonfort, Jul 2, 2011
