For beginners, Cuentos para niños

Hi guys,

Since my Spanish is only a month old grin and newspapers and books are really hard to start with, I thought I should get acquainted with the Spanish literature by reading children stories. It turned out to be a great idea.

Check out this link http://www.elhuevodechocolate.com/cuentos.htm

As a beginner, I find the language used very easy, I'm slowly getting comfortable with the Spanish structure and grammar, my vocabulary is building up, the stories are interesting and funny and I'm simply living my childhood again but this time in Spanish. grin

It's working for me, I hope other beginners will find it helpful too.

Great idea. I'm sure many will appreciate the link. Since you are reliving your childhood, may I also suggest "Plaza Sésamo", which is on most Spanish speaking public broadcasting stations.

There are also examples online. Check out this link where Elmo learns to use the potty. wink Enjoy!

I did the same, read red and read some more because it truly helps. Things go into your mind without you even realising it. It's a great way to learn, one of them anyway.

thumbs up

My vocabulary is really poor which right now i am pushing myself to read and read some spanish stories. You're link is definitely a relief for such a new learner of spanish like me. hihihihi.

Thanks! These are great. I am just learning Spanish too, and I don't understand very much of the stories. I think what I will do is just read them carefully and NOT look up any words. Then after a few more spanishdict lessons and working through my textbook I will go back to the story and see if more of it makes sense.
