I am sharing knitting instructions with someone and I don't know any of the technical words for "knit" "purl" "cast on and off" etc.

knit = punto (del) derecho

purl = punto (del) revés

cast on = agregar puntos

cast off = cerrar puntos

"Knitting" is "hacer punto." Google "hacer punto" and you'll find videos and other resources that should give you the terms you are looking for.

Gintar is right. I remember I used to hear my mother saying: "dos derechos y un revés, un derecho y dos revéses.... y en cada vuelta le quitas un punto..."
