How do the Spanish write "ch" and "sh"?

How do the Spanish write 'sh' and 'ch'. I looked in an old Spanish dictionary and I found no sh's or ch's. My father was born in Mexico, but he was Mayan; and, after I was born in New Orleans, LA my family never bothered with Spanish, for obvious reasons.

That's because the "sh" sound does not exist in Spanish words. In old dictionaries, "ch" was regarded as a letter between the "c" and the "d".

I would edit the title to "How do you write the 'sh' and 'ch' IN Spanish?", as there is a difference between "The Spanish People" and "the Spanish Language."
