When Seve Ballesteros, the great Spanish golfer, made the final putt at St Andrews (1984 British Open) he said over and over "la meti, la meti, la meti". I always thought that the English translation of his Spanish use of this phrase was as if he were a bullfighter and that it meant "the kill, the kill, the kill". Is this correct? You can see the Youtube video of this very famous putt. Please let me know, tks Bob

la metí = I put it in (metí is the 1st person past tense of "meter" = "to put in")
In other words, "I made the putt".
