meaning of "se"

Hi, I saw this today: "Sé el primero en responder a esta pregunta."

I have the feeling this means "Be the first one to answer this question". Anyway, I couldn't find a similar example of this meaning of "se" in the vocabulary.

Emil.

"Sé" is the "tú" imperative imperative of the verb "ser".

correct it does and thats the way i tried to translate the question at first. Then reading Lazarus post it makes sense - clearly in this case its the imperative tu form for ser. - billygoat, Jun 27, 2011
