What does "en tiendas mendas" mean.

In the movie American Me, young JD makes a comment to Mundo in spanish and I can't find the translation online.
JD says to Mundo, "We do what we do, ese. En Tiendas Mendas". If you want to hear him say it you can go the attached Youtube link and go to the 4:15 mark.
I have tried to find the script to get the correct spelling, but can't find the script online. The same phrase is also used by Warden El Fuego in the movie Half Past Dead. Any help would be appreciated.link text

¿Entiendes, Méndez? = Do you understand, Méndez?
Méndez is a surname.

Thank you. Now that you showed me the correct spelling I was able to finally find more information on it. I found that "Comprendes Mendes", is also used. - JustHuman, Jun 26, 2011
