Could you look at this for me please?

Question

We have to write a letter talking about one day in our trip to Peru. It isn't very elegant as we have to use the present perfect to describe events that occur earlier that day. Bearing that in mind could you correct what I have written.

Dear Jessica,

I am writing from the city of Cusco, it is an ancient city in Peru. It is at the extreme western end of the sacred valley of the Andes.

It has many Inca ruins and also many Spanish colonial buildings.

This morning we flew from Lima, the flight took 50 minutes. This morning we drank a traditional drink and at lunch time we ate at a restaurant near to the Plaze de Amas. In the afternoon we went to see the church of Santo Domingo and other buildings.

This evening we ate at a picantería. I ate pepián and a local drink called chica de jora. After this we watched a regional dance at the Teatro Municipal.

We have done a lot today and now I am tired, but the trip so far has been amazing.

Corrections given not in any particular order

1. One obvious mistake is that ''it has'' should be ''tiene'' (3rd person sing) not tienes muchas ruinas If you are wanting to say You have many ruins in your city then tienes would be more appropriate but ''it has'' always uses the 3rd person singular form

2 Also, you should strictly only use the present continuous/progressive construction if you are carrying out the action at the actual time so if you are actually writing the letter at the time you are using this sentence you can say estoy escribiendo la carta This is fine etc... otherwise you would just use the present tense escribo esta carta becuase the present tense can be used to mean I do, am doing eg I write or I am writing

3 The past participle of the verb volar is volado not veledo I guess this is probably just a typo/typing error

4 Hemos bebido is grammatically correct but I would recommend hemos tomado una bebida I think this is more common and it sounds better in this context The same would apply in the next paragraph wher you are talking about eating and drinking

5 This might be a debateable point but I would say:'' después de ver (after seeing)etc...o después de hacer (after doing) o después de haber hecho todas estas cosas (After having done all these things) etc...

((I would suggest not to use the present perfect in the last paragraph. It's a bit long, and this narration calls for preterite.))
