Remember to use proper punctuation and grammar when posting. There are some people learning English here, and we don't want to confuse them. Thanks! Welcome to SpanishDict :) - SonrisaDelSol, Jun 26, 2011

Make sure you're studying every day, otherwise you end up forgetting everything by the time you go back to studyingraspberry.

Try a different method if you've been trying for a while and still failing. One method doesn't work for everyone, and you have to find a way of learning that suits you.

If you've only been trying to learn Spanish for a while, then have a bit of patience wink, it takes time to learn a language.

Welcome to the forum, Shane!

If at first you don't succeed, try again! Really! You can do it! Try our lessons here at SpanishDict. Those will help you, for sure. Try the flashcards, too.

Also, try looking at these books. If your budget allows, you may want to think about buying them. These books have, hands down, made a difference in my Spanish speaking life. Book 1&Book 2&Book 3

On the forum you might see a Skype chat in the works -- that will give you the chance to talk to actual native speakers. You may also see an audio thread - you will be able to record your voice and post it, and natives will correct your accent.

Continue asking questions on the forum if you have questions. We're happy to help!!

Don't give up. If you take something seriously, you will succeed.

You can do it!

The first thing to do is to is to become proficient in your own language.

After that, you will find acquiring a second or third language much easier.

Yes, try again if you don't succeed an keep on trying! When you (any personi s ) are learning anything difficult you will need to persevere and not allow the difficulties, frustrations and challenges to get you down smile

I have made many many mistakes over the years and am so grateful for the patient understanding of so many Spanish speaking natives who kindly correct my silly/or even stupid errors without condemning my mistakes although I hav made a few visits to the dunce corner courtesy of Heidi lol hahhaha I have survived and emerged hopefully wiser Don't answer that, anyone! hahahaha mad tongue wink tongue rolleye LOL grin

I would also encourage you to see your mistakes in a new/different light : Mistakes are not failures - unless we refuse to learn from them and constantly repeat them - mistakes are ''Stepping stones to success'' each one that you learn from can make you wiser and bring you one step closer to a greater proficency in speaking, writing reading and understanding the language.

So please be encouraged every time you make a mistake to see it as an opportunity to learn rather than a failure (an end in itself) and you will continue to make real progress! wink smile grin

Don´t worry over it, pick yourself up and go at it again, Learning a language is a journey, go step by step don´t try to take in too much at once, Been there done that. Most of all " cant" is a four letter word. All of us here will support your efforts.

Don't worry it will be fine. Make sure you get some outside resources like a Spanish book or watch a movie in Spanish. Also try talking to people who are fluent in Spanish and can help you with your pronunciation. We can all use an expert but that is why Spanish Dict is here. If you don't get a lesson try re-doing it.

        Good Luck! grin
