Need a translation please

Question

How do you say "half-asleep" and "half-sleep" in Spanish? I'm not even sure if it's correct English but it's definitely used. It's used to describe the state of person when they are starting to fall asleep (like starting to dream and/or become delusional, haha), but at the same time aware of their surroundings (meaning the can hear people moving and/or talking around them). I want to know what term would be used to say this. Thanks.

How about "medio dormido"? or "adormilado"? The former is more of a literal translation, but the latter is something I have actually seen used quite often.

It's is reflexive in that way. "Me adormilo" but I don't think that is very common. Try instead, "dormitar," (to doze/snooze.) Estaba dormitando. - NuriaMonfort, Jun 24, 2011

Would amodorrarse work too?

Its meaning is along the lines of being drowsy, sleepy etc but that is often what we mean when we say we were half asleep
