How do you say, "Can I go to your house?" in Spanish?

I think it's:
¿Puedo ir a tu casa?
I have read that you can only use venir (to come) when talking about moving TO your current location. You cannot "come" to somewhere you are not. This is different from English. Eg you can't phone your boss from home and say,
No voy a venir al trabajo hoy. (I'm not going to come to work today.)
Instead you have to say
No voy a ir al trabajo hoy. (I'm not going to go to work today.)
Even though your boss is at work when you are talking to him/her.
However if you were talking to your boss while you were physically at work the previous day, you could say: No voy a venir al trabajo mañana.
This is my understanding anyway -- happy to be corrected as I am not a native speaker.
¿Puedo venir a tu casa? Can I come to your house?
