Sometimes it is confusing with the present tense, for example, I am going to the beach. What do I use ? The present tense or present continuous.

It depends if you are on your way to the beach at that moment or if you are going to go to the beach. If you are going to go to the beach, you can say "Yo voy a la playa." If you are on your way to the beach, you can say "Yo estoy yendo a la playa." You could also say "Yo voy a la playa" and it would sound fine.
