Need help proofreading the Spanish translation

Really need some help in proofreading the Spanish translation.

Does your partner insult, criticize, or try to control you? ¿Su pareja lo insulta, lo critica, o trata de controlar a usted?

Ever threaten, hit, shove, strangle, or force sex on you? ¿Alguna vez le ha amenzado, golpeado, empujado, enstrangulado, o tener relaciones sexuales a la fuerza?

Do you feel frightened, isolated, or hurt by what's happening in your relationship? ¿Se siente con miedo, aislado, o herido por lo que pasa en su relacion?

It does not have to be this way. No tiene por qué ser asi.

¿Su pareja lo insulta, lo critica, o trata de controlar a usted?

I would place the subject after the verb. It places more emphasis on the important part of the question...are you being insulted, criticized or controlled?

relación (with accent)

Not sure what your last sentence is saying. "No tiene que ser así" ?

por qué=why

porqué=the reason for

así (with accent).

I assume that lo is being used here versus la to avoid gender bias?

They are questions on a flyer for a domestic violence agency. And last sentence is trying to say it does not have to be like this or this way. I am trying to use lo because we help both men and women. Thank you for the help. - dna2914, Jun 22, 2011
