I work in a jail and need to explain that when an inmate leaves the jail to go to court we have to put resatraints restraints on them. I know the word for handcuffs, "esposas." But how do I explain "restraints" over all since they wont just be in handcuffs?

Hmm... esposas eh? I wonder if the Spanish were onto something when they decided to use the same word (esposas) for wives and handcuffs? tongue wink (I'm just kidding, I highly respect matrimony and women)
