Dé esta pelota a tu hijo = Give this ball to your son.

Should there be a iop before the 'Dé'?

Gracias de antemano grin

People usually use an iop, but it isn't necessary in this case.

Dale esta (pelota) a tu hijo

In parenthesis because if you are already talking about the ball to choose from you can omit the word "pelota"

isnt pelota the direct object? - billygoat, Jun 21, 2011
Yes, but you can say "give this" instead of "give this ball" if it is already clear what "this" is. - lorenzo9, Jun 21, 2011
