Please have look at my Spanish, corrections please.
Ayer fuí a la ferretería a buscar un silicón especial. Le pergunté al dependiente sobre él, y mi dijo que no teniá en este momento, sino hasta la próxima semana. Le dí las gracias por ayudarme, me contestó "a usted¨".
What was interesting here was when the clerk answered me with " a usted" I have likely heard it a hundred times and never realized it.

I would change the following:
- The spelling of "pregunté"
- "en ese momento"
- "sino que llegaría/dispondría de/tendríá el silicón la próxima semana"
- "y él me contestó,"
