The question is: Change to plural.
la capital my answer was las capitales. but there was another slot. i dont understand.

Is this what you meant?
or was it?

In other words, was there an extra underscore for the blank space between the words.

Hola! I'm guessing this is a crossword because you said there was an extra slot. The plural of "la capital" would be, as you said, "las capitales". Maybe you have to put a space in between the two in the crossword puzzle...maybe that's why there is an extra space?
