Do you mean referring? Sorry, I would correct it but I am not sure :) - Destroyed99, Jun 18, 2011
Definitely looked like a typo to me so I have corrected it. - MaryMcc, Feb 9, 2012

I would prefer to say "Espero que sea suficiente para ti".

Espero que sea suficiente para ti. Ser vs. estar and in this case use ser.

Hola, poly,

Your sentence requires the subjunctive, because it meets all the requirements of subjunctive use:

  1. there are two different subjects; you and the other person.

  2. there is an independent (I hope) and dependent clause (that is enough for you) separated by "que"

  3. includes the concept of "uncertainty".

It was probably an oversight, but your "question" gets the mark at beginning and at the end, although it was not technically a question.

Excellent explanation of the grammar, but for me it's easier to remember that the subjunctive always follows "Esperar que" - rodneyp, Jun 19, 2011
thanks, rodney, and I believe in always remembering whatever way that works for you . . . - NancyGrace, Jun 19, 2011

What has failed to be said is "espero que" invokes the subjunctive here, hence the use of "sea".
