does arcas mean underarms or armpits in spanish?
I remember when I was a child I called armpits or underarms arcas in spanish, is this incorrect?

This is not proof , of course, but I did a quick look around at ads for underarm sweating probs, smell etc. and axilas was the one that came up all the time.
Yes, it seems like you are right.
We don't use it like that a lot here.
desoderante para las axilas
Hi
We call those "axilas" In México
To add another term to axila and sobaco (and apparently arca, which is new to me), a term that I have seen before:
Bisagra

I know a family from rural Michoacán that says 'arcas' for 'underarms'. So far we have learned that it is used in such disparate locations as Texas, Michoacán, and Ecuador. Hopefully speakers who are familiar with this term will confirm its use in points in between.
WHy is it called arcas in south texas, mexican-americans in Texas call em arcas, this is no lie
