If a man talks to a woman about sharing a night, does he mean going out for the evening, or something more?

I want to make sure I understand a friend's intentions before I go ou with him for an evening. I am ok if he wants to be romantic, but not if he has expectations of more... How would you read this intent?

Thanks, Heidita... you'll probably see more of me, as I am working on a scinetific Master's thesis that I have to translate from English ideas to Spanish concepts. Right now, my concern is making sure I do not offend my friend. Suggestions? - vulpes32, Jun 15, 2011

Oh! sharing an evening would be a date, sharing a night , wellll I think that is quite a different proposition.

That's kind of what I thought when I read what he wrote... wanted to be sure I wasn't "over-reacting" - vulpes32, Jun 15, 2011
sharing an evening out, sharing a night out, spending the night - 0074b507, Jun 15, 2011
The "out" can change the whole meaning. - 0074b507, Jun 15, 2011
