Are you writing an imaginary résumé for the project or will it be factual? Most résumés need to be tailored towards the specific job, but they all have some common information: name, address, contact information, schooling, job experiences, etc. then optional facts like interests, hobbies, non-related personal achievements, etc.

And don't forget to explain why you want the particular job that you are applying for and what your have to offer the employer, but this specific-to-job information is usually done in a cover letter while the résumé contains generic facts that would pertain to any postiion in your chosen field.

I would suggest that you look as sites like this:

As Quentin suggests

And - don't make it too long - most CVs are rejected or put on the "OK" pile after reading the first page.

I agree. Two pages is an absolute maximum. - 00e657d4, Jun 14, 2011
Yes, I agree and when you have 25 years or more of experience to condense, that is hard to do. Leave the details to the job interview, just speak generally about your experiences. - 0074b507, Jun 14, 2011
