Hola a todos:

A simple question about spelling. On the Span¡shD!ct.com site,

why is it that in the verb conjugation tables there are two variant spellings of

'preterit' 'preterite'?

In UK Spanish grammar didactic publications, I have always seen it as 'preterite'.

This is surely just a US variant spelling, isn't it?

British and American spelling have their differences. Other instances : programme and travelling in Br.E., program and traveling in Am.E.

Both spellings are in my dictionary. I used preterite in school, but have been trying to use preterit on this site more often, because that is how I see school age members spelling it.
