I know what you mean. I found a site which translated pot luck as "olla suerte". A lucky pot? It just goes to show that you have to be careful with these translators.

I have looked and cannot find a "literal" translation for pot luck, other than in a phrase which I posted above, which when translated into English, is not pot luck as I know it.
