"Esa es la conclusión de un estudio llevado a cabo en la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Yale, en Estados Unidos."

This translates to:

"That's the conclusion of a study conducted at the School of Medicine, Yale University, U.S.."

But I still don't understand why the cabo is there.

llevar a cabo, o al cabo, algo.

1. locs. verbs. Ejecutarlo, concluirlo.

Cabo means extreme or end, so "llevar a cabo" means "to take something to the end".
