I just read about a churrascaria restaurant with servers dressed as pasadores. What are pasadores? What does the server's costume represent?

Thanks. I'm still curious as to where the actual word "pasadores" comes from. I wonder if the word is only used in American Brazil concepts, or if it's a word used in South America as well.

If anyone knows anything, I'd be very interested.
