Qué or que in : qué descanse, que descanse...play the game:-)
Click on newest and use both forms, qué or que.
I was talking with jenny about this yesterday and she told me even she still had a problem distinguishing these two words.
So accent:
1) We always use an accent when qué is either a direct or an indirect question.
¿Qué quieres?
Le pregunté qué quería.
2) ¡Qué bueno es esto!
The transalation is "how" here, this always takes an accent.
3) Qué hombre tan bueno! Qué clase tan aburrida!
Same as above but with a noun, so in English we would say: What a nice man, what a boring class.
No accent:
Que te vayas a la cama....
que descanses... (mistake I have just seen on the word of the day
)
Que no te levantes tarde.
Que hagas tus deberes.
You must realize that this is really a shortened form of the sentence:
I am telling you THAT you must go to bed, that you should have a good rest, that you should do your homework....
I think these are the four most confusing cases of qué or que![]()
