What does it mean "ser una persona conveniente"?

This is for Spanish learners. I hope this can make you think. At least, I hope that.

Ella es una persona conveniente = She is a person who likes using other people for her own plans and purposes. (She would only talk to you if she needs you).

Esta persona te conviene = This person is useful for you.

So, instead of getting problems, she is the problem... vise versa of what I said. Grrr, i've fell for this type before. =\ - DJ_Huero, Jun 10, 2011
En México se diría "(Ella) es muy aprovechadora" - 005faa61, Jun 10, 2011
I've more-so heard the term Julian mentioned... to me I think would say opurtunista. =) - DJ_Huero, Jun 10, 2011

Deleted. (I have no idea why I thought this was a case of someone asking for help, as opposed to being an exercise for Spanish-learners. Sorry about that.)

Does it mean to be a helpful or useful person? Can this be used to identify a person looking out for themselves? Good question .I'll be checking back.

It means, she's convenient. Like, you use her when it's convenient... she's your plan B. This is a very terrible way to treat a lady if I may mention.

It could that she is a very accommodating person who goes out of her way to fit in with the plans of others wink smile grin

I could be wrong/way off beam but I think that this word: Conveniente could be what is commonly referred to as a false friend ie a word that suggests a similar word in Spanish but is totally unrelated.
