Do you know what "ser un chichiribaila" means?

For example, in this situation: este médico es un chichiribaila.

Try to explain or find an equivalent in English.

For example, if I say that "este médico es un chichiribaila", we can't take him too seriously because he is too mediocre.

ser un chichiribaila;

Para mí la parte **baila** indica que el médico no sea muy serio o fiable y por eso el idioma puede significar que alguien te promete más que se puede vender.

For me the last part of the word ´baila´ is an indication that you can´t take the doctor seriously because he promises more than he can deliver.

It´s just a wild guess smile

"account for"" is possible, "deliver" would be more usual. - samdie, Jun 9, 2011

The first definition sounds like a politician to me.

"Este médico es un chichiribaila." It would seem to mean that the doctor is making promises (I guess about the recovery of the patient?) that are grand or that he can't keep.

See scrub in English.

Just wondering if this is an exercise on how to use the Internet? je je Again, the closest thing I could find via Goggle (which we all have at our disposal - what would we do without it??) is ==> "Que es 'muy' poca cosa." Not my words, but it seems to imply "no big deal, of little consequence or value, etc." That get me in the ballpark? tongue wink
